Berlin's olympic village from 1936
Impressions from the olympic village that was built to accomodate the athletes for the 1936 games.
During the Olympics more than 4,800 male athletes and coaches from 50 countries stayed at the site.
During World War II, the Olympic complex was used as a hospital for German soldiers, and it was taken over in 1945 and used as a barracks by the Soviet Army.
It had been abandoned since the last Russian soldiers left in 1992.
Currently (2018), the complex is developed into townhouses and apartments
